Yarn Expo Spring 2010 and Intertextile Beijing 2010 opened successfully

Since its inception in 2004, Yarn Expo has gained popularity amongst industry professionals and continues to attract leading international and domestic exhibitors.

Running for three-days from 31 March 2010 at the China World Trade Centre, the event featured a diverse range of products that were divided into several zones for easy navigation at the fair. Acting as a trade channel between both foreign and domestic fabric manufacturers and local producers, Yarn Expo has become well established in the global textile market. This is a key factor for exhibitors’ return participation in the fair.

"The show is an great opportunity for us to promote our products to the Chinese market, expand our customer base, as well as reinforce the relationships we have built over the past few years at this show,” said Mr Sandeep Goel, General Manager for Kaybee Grupo, supplier of spun yarns, filament yarns and fibres.

New exhibitors are also keen to meet with potential buyers that attend the fair each season. "We produce high quality fancy yarn using cotton, linen, mohair and wool,"comments Mr Chris Lee, Manager for Saint Andre Far East Ltd. "Although this is our first participation in the fair, we look forward to meeting new clients from around the world, especially from China, which is one of our biggest markets."

Improved features add value to buyer’s sourcing experience
The show will present natural, manmade and speciality/fancy fibres and yarns with end uses including knitting, weaving and apparel textiles. The majority of suppliers will group into three highlighted areas including viscose, bamboo / ramie and fire retardant fibres.

New this year is a special Pakistan Zone showcasing some of the region’s most famous cotton yarn and fabric manufacturers.Several suppliers will display pure cotton, poly-cotton, organic cotton & core spun yarns, which can be applied for knitting/ weaving, denim, hosiery, home-textiles, and apparels.

Also, running at the same period as Yarn Expo are Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics and the China International Clothing and Accessories Fair (CHIC). These three industry events held during the same period, make it easier for apparel manufacturers and other industry experts from China and overseas to visit all fairs. Yarn Expo is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry – CCPIT, China Cotton Textile Association, China Wool Textile Association, China Chemical Fibres Association, China Bast & Leaf Fibres Textiles Association, and China Textile Information Centre.


Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics 2010 confirms some of the world’s leading textile suppliers from 30 March 2010, at the China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing. Several new features introduced this year will improve overall fair layout and assist visitors maximise their sourcing time.

Most notably, the new European Hall in hall 3  focused on a range of luxury fabrics and wools. Within the special hall were country pavilions, which group suppliers from one area. Pavilions help visitors locate suppliers with ease and give exhibitors a high profile space to exhibit. Pavilions in this hall include Germany and Italy, with representation from Switzerland plus a special Wool Zone featuring exhibitors from Turkey and the UK.

Examples of returning contemporary fabric suppliers are Duca Visconti Di Modrone SpA from Italy, which  presented high quality corduroys, flats and cottons as well as Girmes International from Germany, which showcased woven velvets, corduroys and synthetic fur fabrics.

Confirmed wool zone suppliers include Moxon Huddersfield from the UK, which presented a wide range of luxury woollen and woollen cloth as well as Turkey’s largest worsted wool exporter importer, Yunsa Yunlu Sanayi Ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi, which exhibited 100 percent wool and fantasy wool fabrics mixed with top quality man-made and natural material.

Many accessories exhibitors were also featured in the debut European Hall including Guterman from Germany featuring their Spring / Summer accessories & trimmings collection for 2011.
