The production of sustainable technologies is an essential value for Italian textile machinery manufacturers. There is a common inspiring philosophy running through Italy’s textile machinery industry: developing technology solutions able to use efficiently available resources and providing energy savings, while ensuring safety for workers, a low environmental impact, and the wellness of end-consumers.

For this reason, ACIMIT (Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers), with the support of Italian Ministry for Economic Development and Italian Trade Commission, jointly with associated participating manufacturers, have realized a project aimed at showcasing technology solutions developed by Italian machinery producers that are inspired by the values of sustainability. The “Sustainable Technologies” initiative, promoted at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2010 (Shanghai, 22-26 June), is a part of this project, gathering and exhibiting the work and results of about forty Italian manufacturers who have committed their efforts on this front.

ACIMIT has developed a distinctive logo (a stylized leaf with the heading “Sustainable Technologies”, here attached) that will appear at the booths of ACIMIT’s members participating in this initiative. Media representatives visiting them will get a firsthand look at the progress Italy’s textile machinery manufacturers are making in this direction.

More details regarding Italian “Sustainable Technologies” project and the list of ACIMIT’s members joining it will be provided during the ACIMIT press conference, scheduled to be held during ITMA ASIA + CITME on 23 June (at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (Hall E1, Room M19).

ACIMIT represents an industrial sector comprising roughly 300 companies employing 14,000 people, which produces machinery for an overall value of 1.9 billion Euros. The quality of the Italian textile technology is testified by the high number of Countries where the Italian machinery are sold: about 130. Exports represent 78% of total sales. Creativity, technology, reliability and quality are the characteristics that have made Italian machinery products proven winners throughout the world.
