Zhoucun, Zibo of Shandong Province recently invested 820 million yuan in 12 key projects to develop the silk textile industry in this area. This indicated the start of invigorating plan of silk textile industry of Zhoucun. 

Zhoucun had been praised as the Town of Silk. There were 800 silk textile manufacturers in this area, with 20,0000 employees. Its output accounted for one third of the total of Shandong Province. 95% of the products were export-oriented. While under the impact of global financial crisis and other factors, the silk textile industry is under a difficult time.

The invigorating plan included 820 million yuan investment in this year and next year, into 12 projects, to set up silk textile R&D centers, and cultivate leading manufacturers whose annul sales income beyond one billion yuan. The production capability reach 28 million meters per year. It aimed at being No. 1 silk production base in China.
