Wending City is located in the east Shandong Peninsula, covering 1,645 sq. kilometers and having the population of 656,000. The city has the scenic view and mild climate, and enjoys convenient land, sea and air transportation, the complete infrastructure and the favorable investment environment. More than 630 enterprises from over 20 countries and regions have been located in the city.

In recent years, the city has paid great efforts to develop and expand the hometextile industry. Among the now registered 182 hometextile companies, 11 ones have achieved over RMB100 million's sales turnover. The industry has been equipped with 52,000 sets of various machines with the year weaving capacity of 50 million meters, dyeing capacity 80 million meters, sweater processing capacity 90 million pieces, garment processing capacity 210 million pieces and drawnwork hometextile processing capacity 410 million pieces. The products ranging over 280 varieties and 3,200 colors in 6 series are domestically sold or exported to over 60 countries and regions. In 2003, the hometexitle industry realized RMB9.08 billion's turnover, RMB920 million profits taxation, US$440 million’s foreign currency earning by export. The industry employs 41,000 worker with other 130,000 related, accounting for 31% of the total employment in the city.
