Hosiery manufacturing is an important industry, possessing 200-plus manufactu ring enterprises, 20-plus raw material supplying enterprise, over 100 raw material distributors, 33 mechanics & spare parts suppliers. There are over 200 brands for stocking & socks, of which the Rickshaw won the Province famous trademark. The annual production of hosiery reaches 860 million pairs. This unique industry is staffed with 50,000 people, and the technical equipment is imported mainly from Italy, Korea, Japan etc., and majority of turnover-sizable enterprises have been certified with ISO-9000, and have their own R & D team. Hosiery of Lishui Town is sold across the country and exported to EU, USA, Southeast Asia etc.

The local government strives to build hosiery manufacturing into a better & stronger industry, and is now setting up Hosiery Committee of Guangdong Textile Industry Association, and setting up hosiery flow & distributing center, technical innovation center and trade market, and strengthening corporate brand operation and IT application, supporting the better and stronger enterprises in an attempt to make a number of economically-viable, output-efficient and competitive large enterprises or group companies. With specialized division of production and social corlaboration in mind, an orderly and fair competitive industrial value chains will be lined up to promote the renovation of the whole industry.
