Apparel Retail Sales Value - 8.6% m/m in November in Shanghai
wool (cashmere) sweater:
sales rose more than 70%m/m
In November 2012, compared with last month most clothing categories declined. Among them, wool ( cashmere ) sweater sales had a growth of 70.6%; men's dress, knitted underwear sales increased by a small margin. The rest were down. Men's shirts, men's trousers and children's clothing sales fell more than 20%m/m.
Women’s apparel :
Elegant-prosper took the first place
The accumulated retail sales volume of women’s apparel was3.933million pieces (sets), decreasing 4.4% y/y by 0.181 million pieces (sets) in Jan.—Nov.2012 in Shanghai; The accumulated retail sales value increased 2.4%y/y to CNY1.948 billion; Average price was CNY495.3/piece (set), up 7.1% y/y.
Looking further into the ranking of women’s apparel brands in terms of sales value in Nov.2012. Elegant-prosper took the first place. It reported the sales value was CNY3.206 million, down 18.3%m/m; VERO MODA took the second ranking, with CNY3.189 million, down 13%m/m;ONLY won the third place, with CNY3.056 million, down 30.3%m/m; SIERLI with CNY2.794million took the fourth; L'ORFEO with CNY2.686 million took the fifth ranking, down 15.5%m/m.

Looking further into the ranking of men’s suit brands in terms of sales value in Nov.2012. Vskonne with CNY2.581 million claimed the top ranking; callisto with CNY2.156 million claimed the second place; ARMANI.CO was CNY1.923 million, down5.6%m/m, claimed the third; Zegna with CNY1.921 million claimed the fourth, down 2.7%m/m; DAKS with CNY1.815 million still claimed the fifth ranking this month.

Looking further into the ranking of men’s shirt brands in terms of sales value in Nov.2012. Conch kept top one for three consecutive months and reported the sales value was CNY607,000, down 29.0%m/m; Kaikai followed after Conch and ranked second. It reported the sales value reached CNY408,000, down 14.8% m/m; Youngor was CNY304,000, down 12.4%, still claimed the third.
