According to the updated statistics from Guangzhou Customs, the apparel export from Guangdong Province to US and EU was US$200 million and 160 million respectively, falling by 21.8% and 2.2%.

The high price of quota bidding may cause the continuing decline of the export to EU and US. However, the loss in the above two main markets haven’t actually affected the total export value growth. In Jan.-May, Guangdong apparel export was US$ 8.45 billion dollars, increasing by 67.1% on the previous year. The export in May was US$ 2.49 billion dollars, growing by 100%.
