It is official statistics made by China Customs that China imported textile machinery reached USD 818,262,669 ( about USD 818 Million), up 1.34 per cent year-on-year.

In the import of textile machinery, the import of knitting machinery was USD 212,655,272, up by 31.45 per cent year-on-year; and the import of weaving machinery USD 153,337,855 increasing 17.39 percent year-on-year; the import of non-woven machinery USD 3,789,430 down by 68.50 per cent compared with the same period of last year.

The main countries or regions China imported the textile machinery from are Germany, Italy, Taiwan China, France and Switzerland, taking up 79.53 of the total import.

It is reported that there are 25 provinces and cities in China that imported the textile machinery at different amount in the first quarter, 2006.  I which, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong and Shanghai are the five top whose import took up 87.73 per cent in the total import. The five top to import in extent are Yunnan, Henan, Hubei, Guangdong and Guangxi provinces.

It is analyzed that the top ones to import are the foreign companies in independent capital, which increased by 10.24 per cent with the amount USD 326285532 and the second top ones are state-owned companies with the amount USD 166591488, which decreased by  9.13 per cent year-on-year base. It is noteworthiness that the import of the private companies is increased greatly by 68 per cent compared with the same period of last year.
