Liaoning textile exports down 3.1 percent in first half

According to Shenyang customs statistics, exports of textile goods (including apparel and apparel accessories) from Liaoning Province decreased by 3.1% during January-June 2009 year on year to US$1,578 million. However, exports of textiles and apparel have been showing a recovery since March.
June exports increased by 5.2% compared to the same month of last year to US$292 million. Compared to the previous month, exports grew by 10.5%.
Exports to Japan, the EU, Korea and U.S. accounted for 83.3% of first-half exports. Exports to Japan rose by 7.1% to US$594 million, along with those to the EU by 8.3% to US$353 million, while Korea and the U.S. posted decreases of 27% and 18.4% respectively.
