The growth pace of textile export slowed down on Feb. 2006

According to China Customs, in Feb. 2006, China’s imp. combined exp. of textile and apparels were 7.69 billion US$, increased 6.6% from the same period of previous year, where export was 6.57 billion US$, up 4.3%, and import was 1.12 billion US$, up 23%. From Jan. to Feb., the accumulated imp. & exp. of textile and apparels reached 19.01 billion US $, 14.6% up, with 16.75 billion US$ of exp. , up 15.3% and 2.26 billion US$, up 9.8%. In Feb., in consideration of the visible effect of Spring Holiday and quota, the exp. volume dropped down a lot to that of Jan., only a growth of 4.3%, resulting in the accumulated increase range fell down below 20% for the 1st time since the second half of the last year.
