Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2009 will return from 25 - 27 August 2009 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Shanghai, China. The show is one of the most important annual home textile trade events in the world - second in size only to its parent show Heimtextil in Frankfurt. The 15th annual edition in 2009 will feature thousands of innovative products, creative original design and access to the best buyers and agents in the world's textile manufacturing capital of China. More than 32,000 professional trade buyers attended in 2008 from 98 countries and regions including home textile-related importers, exporters, wholesalers, retailers, contractors, manufacturers and designers. Through a special VIP buyer programme, dozens of famous brands and retailers from around the world and across China also attended. China's appetite for quality textiles is still going strong: home textile imports grew nearly 65% in the first seven months of this year and domestic sales grew 30% over the prior year. High home ownership rates and more disposable income are helping to foster a growing middle class with a keen interest in soft furnishings. "We are very positive about the potential for home textile sales in China. The buoyant market has helped offset loses from the global economic downturn, which is good for manufacturers seeking a new trade destination," said Ms Wendy Wen, Director of Trade Fairs for Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. "Particularly in regions that haven't traditionally been major markets, such as western China." In addition to being a major trade venue, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles is expanding its position as a forerunner for modern design in China. The show features a Designer's Studio for Chinese and international design agencies to present their original works. Increasingly, Chinese brands are concentrating on creativity and innovative original design. Trend forums and design seminars along with an international design competition, present the hot new trends in interior design from around the world. The show also features special pavilions to help visitors navigate more easily. Pavilions are created for products - Bedding and Towelling, Curtains and Decorative Fabrics - and geographic zones including from Pakistan, Portugal, Taiwan and Turkey. Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles features products for bed and bath, table and home décor, window and wall treatments and upholstery. The show is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.; The Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and China Home Textile Association (CHTA) | |||
