According to a recent report of China  Petrochemical News, the Chinese spandex manufacturing sector looks optimistic following a  wave of investment last year.

Production on fast growth

In 2007, China's production capacity of spandex increased to 250,000 tons per annum, compared to  the global aggregate spandex capacity of about 500,000 tons a year. From 2001 to 2006, the annual spandex production capacity in China jumped from 25,100 tons to 235,600 tons. Meanwhile, the output  of spandex surged from 17,000 tons to 155,000  tons, and the apparent consumption of the material  rose from 35,000 tons to 170,400 tons.
