New venue for Yarn Expo Spring

Exceptional market conditions for the show
The next Yarn Expo Spring, Beijing's leading international trade fair for yarns and fibres, will take place in a more convenient venue. The China World Trade Centre is close to the new underground system and with many hotels nearby it, occupies a prime location in the heart of Beijing's Central Business District. Scheduled for 29 - 31 March 2006, Yarn Expo Spring 2006 provides a unique opportunity for fibre and yarn manufacturers to promote their latest products in one of China's fastest growing regions.

"We have launched this show in 2004 due to increasing market demand," says Annie Ma, Group Manager of Trade Fairs for Messe Frankfurt. "Domestic and overseas manufacturers and suppliers recognise that China plays a huge role in the global textile industry, so it is imperative to have an event enabling them to promote their products."

Exceptional market conditions for Yarn Expo Spring 2006

China has been the world's largest garment producer for a few years now, but last year have been especially productive. This surge is the direct effect of the quota abolition. Clothing exports have soared by 22 percent during the first seven months of 2005. This fast development in garment manufacturing is not only due to the increase in apparel exports but also to the booming consumption of clothing domestically. According to the China national bureau of Statistics, China's clothing sales rose by an impressive 24 percent in 2005 resulting in a huge demand for textiles, yarns and fibres.

Increase in fibres and yarns imports to China

Although China's production of fibres and yarns has increased, the nation is still not able to cover all its need, which leads to a growth in imports. China needs to import more middles to high quality fibres and yarns in order to meet the huge demand from the international and domestic markets. From January to July 2005, China's imports of silk yarn has increased by more than 80 percent year-on-year.

Yarn Expo is recognised by suppliers worldwide as an excellent platform to meet Chinese weavers and knitwear manufacturers sourcing for fibres and yarns. The show organisers expect a repeat of last year's success. In 2005, the total number of buyers was up 12 percent from 2004. Around 85 percent of the buyers were locals and the numbers of buyers from overseas were up 11 percent from the last event.

Yarn Expo is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry - CCPIT, China Cotton Textile Association, China Wool Textile Association, China Chemical Fiber Association, China Bast & Leaf Fibers Textiles Association, China Textile Information Centre and supported by the Texprocil of India.
