OMNIplus 800 ─  the new standard for profitable airjet weaving

With the OMNIplus 800, Picanol sets the new standard for profitable airjet weaving. The OMNIplus 800 is based on an entirely new and fully modular concept. All the components are optimised for unparalleled industrial speeds, minimum maintenance and maximum profitability. In addition the OMNIplus 800 is packed with functions that make it easy to achieve the very best fabric quality.

Modular insertion system is patented. The CANplus prewinder – exclusive to Picanol have a sensor for the reserve windings and may have a built-in optical yarn break detector, able to weave yarn ranging from extremely light to coarse. The Programmable Filling Tensioner (PFT) reduces the peak tension in the yarn at the end of insertion when the solenoid pin on the prewinder closes. This makes it possible to weave weaker, more delicate or elastic yarns at higher speeds. The position of both the fixed and the movable main nozzles is simple to adjust. Moreover the airjet pressure and timing can be adjusted separately, giving reduced air consumption. At the entrance to the main nozzle a pneumatically controlled mechanical clamp (patented) holds the yarn during the non-insertion period, enabling the continuous airflow to be kept at a very low level. This improves the fabric quality and reduces the numbers of stops with weaker yarns such as stretch and core spun yarns. New relay nozzles are optimized for more efficient use of air, enabling maximum use to be made of the available insertion time. The electro-magnetic valves on the relay nozzles are easy to reach, so that changing the width can be done quickly and easily. The airline between valve and relay nozzle have been made as short as possible, thus further reducing air consumption. The unique Argus filling detector (patented) has a full view of the entire cross-section of the insertion channel, so that detection is independent of the position of the yarn in the channel.

The automatic pickfinding, the Quick Style Change(QSC), the quick harness connections, the  change for warp beam and cloth roll, the micro-computer control and many electronic settings: these all increase the amount of time available for producing quality fabric at high speeds.

OMNIplus 800 TC the most profitable tire cord weaving machine

The OMNIplus 800 TC is based on the OMNIplus 800 airjet weaving machine, which was launched by Picanol in 2005 and is already generally recognized as one of the most advanced airjet weaving machines for the production of a wide variety of high-quality fabrics. The OMNIplus 800 TC combines all the strong points of the OMNIplus 800 with a set of extra features and a whole series of new developments making it the most advanced tire cord weaving machine currently available.

OMNIplus 800 TC sets an example of ergonomics design. It is extremely easy to operate, has dedicated functions eliminating all possible errors, and requires only a very strict minimum of maintenance. The Sumo direct-drive technology in the weaving machine, drawing-in unit and batching motion for very low power consumption.

OMNIjet ─ specially designed to Chinamarket focusing on adding value

The OMNIjet airjet weaving machine has been launched in 2006,specifically designed to Chinaweaving market focused on adding value. The machine is based on Picanol’s OMNIplus 800 technology, enabling the weaver to produce high-quality fabrics at high speeds while keeping the weaving cost low. The OMNIjet has many outstanding features specially as follows:

  • High price/performance ration at speed up to 800 RPM

  • Sumo main motor with direct machine drive(Picanol Patented)

  • Full electronic monitoring and control, microprocessor-controlled filling insertion

  • Electronic Take-Up (ETU) and Electronic Let-Off (ELO)

  • High-performance filling insertion for weaving more with less air

  • Low air and energy consumption

  • Simple to handle and maintain, fewer spare parts

GamMax the synthesis of Picanol rapier technological know-how and experience built up over many decades

In developing the GamMax rapier machine, Picanol has taken the requirements of the market as its starting point. These are: high productivity thanks to high machine speeds and low downtimes, the ability to weave a wide variety of textiles, flexibility in switching from one article to another and low weaving cost. All this and more has been achieved on the GamMax machine. Various technological innovations on the Gamma machine - the successful predecessor of GamMax - have been further refined, and new technologies and options have been added.

GamMax makes it possible for the weaver to choose the type of gripper system so as to further optimize the machine when weaving certain types of fabrics. GamMax can be fitted with a guided gripper system or a Free Flight gripper system. Both systems are interchangeable. The new lightweight gripper head of GamMax and the re-designed rapier drive with forced bearing lubrication guarantee reliable insertion at a speed higher than ever before. The new lightweight gripper goes into the gripper clamp easily, requires less filling tension, the number of filling stops is reduced. The light gripper is also smaller, which results in a smoother entrance of the gripper in the shed, less friction on the warp yarns, and hence fewer warp stops. The Free Flight has been specially developed for weaving delicate fabrics. The rapier tape is no longer guided by hooks, so the yarns cannot be damaged by hooks diving into the warp yarns. The machine has a covered raceboard for gentle treatment of the warp yarns during beat-up. The Free Flight version of GamMax is especially useful for production of lining, voile, curtains, upholstery fabrics, industrial fabrics, hight-twist crepe, airbags, computer ribbon, sail cloth, glass an Kevlar. A special gripper for extremely coarse weft yarn is available and is interchangeable with the existing grippers, widening the field of application still further.

GTXplus ─ a easy and simple, multi-function rapier weaving machine

The GTXplus stands for rapier technology with the best price/performance ratio using proven Picanol technology, based on GamMax technology, with full electronic monitoring and control, and microprocessor-controlled filling insertion. The GTXplus is standard equipped with the Quick step filling presentor, the orginal Picanol automatic pickfinding device and electronic let-off and take-up motion. The standard microprocessor monitors and controls all main functions, sets fabric and colour patterns, stores all production data etc.

The range of fabrics that can be woven on the GTXplus is very wide. It goes from apparel fabrics, such as lighting shirting, lining, fashion fabrics, denim, corduroy, woollen and worsted outerwear, over all kinds of furnishing and household fabrics to a wide variety of technical fabrics, from light tent cloth, filter cloth to heavy coating fabrics. The machine parameters can easily be adapted by means of the microprocessor without the need for a technician.

Welcome to the 10th ChinaInternational Textile Machinery Exhibition (CITME 2006). We are sincerely waiting for you at Booth 8E191(Belgian pavilion) and  Hall 99201.
