Texworld and ApparelSourcing have come to a close, having seen 13 400 pass through their doors, meaning a slight drop of 3.3% compared with last February’s show. The level of visitors from European countries remains stable. Nonetheless a significant drop in visitors from Turkey and the Netherlands, which the organizers cannot understand, and from Italy. Countries like Greece, Belarus and Japan, as well as countries in the Arab region saw a considerable increase. Brazil, borne up by a prospering economy, recorded a substantial rise. A sustained flow of visitors from African countries, which already posted growth last September, confirms the recovery of industry on this continent. The 700 exhibitors at the two shows noted the high quality of visitors and the climate for business proved very positive. The exhibitors, arriving with some apprehension given the situation of the European economy, departed satisfied and reassured by the prospects and stable condition of the market. Michael Scherpe, President of Messe Frankfurt France emphasises: “Visitors and exhibitors have expressed how much they enjoyed being at the exhibition. They made “My Texworld” their own. They appreciated the buzz of creativity that is evident there and that also filters through to the ranges on offer, matching up to the expectations of an ever-more discerning fashion industry.“ The exhibition also presented trends in the three areas dedicated to end use for the first time: Attractive Spirit for women, Strict Essence for men and Casual View for the world of casual wear. These forums showcased exhibitors’ products that are of more and more of high quality. Visitors appreciated these forums for the ease of interpretation and the wealth of products offered. Louis Gérin, Artistic Director of the show together with Grégory Lamaud, states: “We have noticed a creative rivalry and interesting and unexpected innovations.” For the first ApparelSourcing Paris to be held in February, after the launch last September, the range of products demonstrated excellent craftsmanship and delicate finishing that matched European demand. The diverse assortments for menswear, womenswear, children’s clothing and accessories appealed to buyers, who selected very imaginative casual wear like vintage-style T-shirts from the Italian Centex or jeans from the Pakistani make Artistic Apparel, dresses and blouses at Mass Konfeksion (Turkey) and Tribérica (Portugal), formal wear (coats, jackets and suits) at Chaudhary Garments (Pakistan) and Beyond Garments (China). The date is set for next September from the 17th to 20th. | |
