Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2007

One of China's largest and most popular apparel fabric trade events opens later this month for a brimming four days of trade, seminars, trend forecasting events and more. Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2007 officially launches 29 October with a special invitation-only day for special buyers. The show opens to all trade buyers from 30 October to 1 November at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
The show features more than 2,000 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions; thousands of new products; nine country pavilions and more than 20 informative industry-related seminars. Exhibitors include 1,394 suppliers from China and more than 600 from throughout the world in 80,500 sqm of gross exhibition space. The show this year will include a special zone featuring textile designers from the UK. Eight agencies, including some of the most famous textile designers, will present their designs and products for upcoming seasons.
Many international suppliers will also be featured in one of the nine country and region pavilions created to help visitors navigate the show with ease. The pavilions are from: Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Portugal, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey.
Mr. Xu Kunyuan, the vice president of China National Textile & Apparel Council visited the booths of Bodo Jogdberg (Hong Kong), BASF, Itochu, Teijin (Nantong), Sankei (Shanghai), Esquel Group, GTL, Sunshine under the company of the media group and other staffs from CNTAC. During the visiting, Mr. Xu gave many precious advices about the development and strategy to each of the companies. Especially when he came to the booth of companies of leaf fibers, Mr. Xu said that the companies that produce leaf fibers products should march bravely into the development of new design and new technology in order to break the ground.

Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics this year features a special pavilion dedicated to the apparel, fabric and accessories produced by six countries in the ASEAN region. After successfully running in Hong Kong for three years, Source It will be featured at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics in Hall W2 to highlight 18 suppliers from Cambodia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Apparel makes up the majority of the products presented in this special pavilion. Many ASEAN countries have large export contracts to Western countries and own licensing rights to produce apparel and accessories for many famous brands. In addition to the full range of mens and womenswear, the event will include infantwear, sleep and sportswear, and denim and knit textiles and clothing.

No Intertextile show is complete without a rounded programme of trend-forecasting and industry and technological developments and Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics is no exception: the show will feature more than 20 seminars by designers, industry analysts, major manufacturers and more. The seminars will help visitors and exhibitors alike to stay abreast of changes in the apparel textile market and industry.
The show also offers two trend forums displaying the forecasted styles, colours and fabrics that will be walking the runways in the coming seasons. The Interstoff Asia Directions Trend Committee presents the international trend forum and Fabrics China has created a China-specific trend forum. The show also features a look at thousands upon thousands of apparel textile and products, including a special area centred on accessories.
